Kundapur: 4 injured in serial accident involving four vehicles

Kundapur, Jul 12: In a serial accident which occurred at around 9.30 pm on Thursday July 11 in the town, four persons suffered injuries. The accident occurred in front of Hotel Guruprasad here.

In the accident, four vehicles also suffered damages. When a Skoda car moving towards Koteshwar from the town was taking a turn at Hotel Guruprasad to reach Kinara Road, a Toyota Innova car that was following it, hit the car from behind, after the driver who was speeding, lost control over the vehicle. Due to the impact of the collision, Skoda car spun thrice before coming to a stop.

While the Skoda suffered extensive damages, occupants of the car, Bhaskar (40), and driver, Prasannaraj, who suffered serious injuries, were admitted into a hospital here.

The Innova car then moved ahead, and hit a KSRTC bus in front of it. Immediately after this accident occurred, the bus driver applied brakes, as a result of which, a motor bike following the bus hit the bus from behind. The motor bike rider was also injured. The names of the two other injured are not yet known.

Traffic police rushed to the spot, registered a case, and paved way for resumption of traffic which stood affected for some time.
