Mangalore, Jul 17: “As many as 110 additional government related services will be brought under Sakaala, an initiative under Karnataka Guarantee of Services to Citizens Act 2011 from August 16,” said Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms Secretary and Karnataka Mission Director of Sakaala Shalini Rajneesh, here, on Monday July 15.

Addressing the reporters at the press conference held in the DC’s office, Shalini Rajneesh said, “Presently, there are 265 services under Sakaala. From August 16, of the 110 government services to come under the scheme, as many as 76 services will be from higher education department, five from sericulture, two from library, and one from co-operative department.”

Thus, a total of 21 departments and 375 services will be made available to public under Sakaala scanner.

Already, officials have undergone a month-long workshop for proper implementation of newly added services. The public did not benefit much from the first Sakaala programme launched earlier. To clarify doubts of people, this time ‘help desk’ has been launched –already 25,000 people have made use of this service”, she added.

“Public can now avail the facility without waiting in queues or running from pillar to post. Nearly 31 services of 21 departments have provided online access to people who are seeking help under Sakaala. In future, all the services will be made available online,” said Rajneesh.
