Kasargod: Boat capsizes, 11 fishermen injured

Kasargod, Jul 17: As many as 11 fishermen were injured as a boat capsized in the Mogral-Puttur river on Tuesday morning July 16.

The injured are identified as Yusuf (47) from Manjeshwar, Hassainar (45), Yermalla (50), Ibrahim (35), Prashanth (45) from Uppala, Abdul Rahiman (41) from Manjeshwar, C H Abdulla (41), Nawaz from Bangra Manjeshwar (19), Mohammed (41), Sattar (30) and Ibrahim (40).

The deceased are now admitted to the Kumble government hospital. It is said that the boat capsized as it was struck by rough seas. Another boat which was closeby helped to save the fishermen.

An estimate loss of Rs 4 lac is expected as the boat engine and other parts are damaged.
