Kasargod: Postman arrested for delivering passport at fake address

Kasargod, Jul 17: The Internal security investigation team (ISIT) on Tuesday July 16 arrested a postman for delivering a passport at a fake address.

The arrested is identified as Narayan (46), postman from Attangana post office in Kanhangad.

ISIT team which is investigating 150 fake passport cases in Kasargod-Kanhangad from 2007-10 arrested the postman.

During investigation, it is learnt that the postman had delivered four passports at fake addresses in Attangana post office limits.

Pertaining to this, ISIT have also booked case against Kasargod special branch retired sub-inspector Balakrishna.

Mohammed Kunhi has already been arrested in connection to this case and the local police have been investigating for the past 6 years. As suspicion grew that the fake passports were backed by a terrorist link, the case was handed to the ISIT few months back.

The arrested was produced before the Kanhangad Judicial first class court and was later released on bail.
