Kundapur, Jul 22: In an interesting turn of events, a man from Bangalore who had disappeared from Maravante beach under mysterious circumstances about a month ago has been found.

The man, identified as Shyamprasad, had left his car and belongings at Maravante beach and disappeared. His mobile phone too was found in the car. A case had been registered in Gangolli police station on June 17. It was assumed that he had committed suicide by jumping into the sea.

However, the Gangolli police also found a bank receipt of a payment, which ultimately helped them trace Shyamprasad. The receipt was of State Bank of India, Goa, showing a payment of Rs 25,000 made to a person by name Sandhya in Bangalore. The police left for Bangalore to investigate further, and after getting her address from the bank from where the money was transferred, they managed to locate her. Based on the information given by Sandhya, the police traced Shyamprasad to Ramachandrapura in Bangalore and caught him, and brought him to Gangolli for interrogation. It is learnt that amount of Rs 25,000 that was transferred was monthly house rent he had paid his tenant.

Shyamprasad, who holds an MBA in marketing, was running a used car business in Banashankari. He used to make nearly Rs 4 lac a month from this business, and from the profit earned, he planned to buy a Hitachi. He took a loan of Rs 10 lac to start a new business but faced losses right from day one. Over the last six months, he got himself into a debt of Rs 40 lac.

When the lenders demanded their money back, he tried to evade them by shifting to another house, but there too he was found out. He then left Bangalore by his car with an intention to jump into the sea at Murdeshwar. But when he reached Trasi, he changed his clothes, left the ones he was wearing in the car along with his phone and bag, and took a bus to Kundapur. From there he went to Karwar, then to Panaji and finally took a train to Delhi.

In Delhi, he got a job in Mahindra company that fetched him Rs 30,000 per month. However, when the company asked him to produce some documents and also to make some money to buy a car, he came back to Bangalore.

The Gangolli police searched the length and breadth of the coastal region in their hunt for Shyamprasad. Finally, the bank receipt found in the car gave them the vital clue. It has been ascertained that he had faked his disappearance to evade his lenders. Gangolli ASI Annayya Golla and head constable Ratnakar located and arrested him in Bangalore.

Oh this person is a not a criminal please. It is just that, a good business man got a bad time. He didn't steal anybody's money or cheat, but just couldn't repay the loans he had taken. With an MBA and a great business talent, he should be given a chance to live normally. Government should help him. Having lived in Bangalore, I have seen real criminals who are Telugus or Tamils. You will never guess how badly they cheat. After the Shyam is a native to Karnataka and his intentions are not deliberate.....

ShyamPrasad has talents but unfortunately he lost in the business. If he were successful all would have shut their  mouth. ShyamPrasad please never look back, follow the story of a brave spider. You may loose six times but surely be successful in seventh attempt. Never Quit.

One thing that surprises me here is the comments by some saying greed , dream high is not good and things like that. One must understand business is full of uncertainities. Things go in your favor sometimes and sometimes it doesnt and you end up in a loss. Taking calculated risk is advisable but that does not guarantee you success. However we cannot stop trying. People with high dreams just go for it and they are the ones who always want to achieve more and more. Most of the time it need not be just money but also personal fulfilment, to become successful in life. Most of us are content on working for others, content on a secure job and dont have the guts to take the risk and they might have their own reasons for doing so and scared of what is going to happen in the future. So its better not to judge someone just because this guy has landed in huge debts. he might just come out of it.

Remember if Dhirubhai Ambani had not taken the risk then there would never be a Reliance Empire and many who comment here would not have a job. Competition today is much more higher than what it was when he started.

Right now all we have to be happy about is this guy did not end his life or could be that he went to end and something stopped him and made him not to give up.

    Shyamprasad,

Thank God you did not take a drastic step and you are still alive.

You are a qualified man and given an opportunity to grow financially, you can settle the debts. Make use of your brain and make a pledge of good conduct and have a decent life in the future. Failure is a stepping stone for success. Do not give up.

Excellent story but unbelievable. The guy seems to be intelligent.Give him a chance to live. For a youth with MBA degree repayment of 40 lakhs loan will not be a burden if he continues his job at Mahendra. No further loan to be given.Proper guidence/counciling will be useful. He has some assets too which may be sold and the proceeds may be appropriated towards the debts.

But what is his guilt? He had not left a suicide note, nor was there any missing complaint. His deal with his debters only but they also had not complained. Nor could he be booked for 'No Parking' his car. Under what section can police take him into custody?
