Srikanth's children to play key roles in 'Rudhramadevi'


Chennai, Jul 22 (IANS): Meka Roshan and Meka Medha, son and daughter of Telugu actor Meka Srikanth, will be seen essaying important roles in upcoming Telugu period-drama "Rudhramadevi". They are being trained in horse riding for their roles.

"Roshan and Medha will play the younger version of the lead protagonists of that of Rana and Anushka. We will soon start shooting scenes with them and until then they are being trained in horse riding," the film's director Gunasekhar told IANS.

While Roshan will be seen playing the young version Veerabhadra Chalukya, originally being played by Rana Daggubati, Srikanth's daughter Medha will be seen essaying young Rani Rudhramadevi, which being played by Anushka Shetty.

The film, which is being shot in 3D, is touted to be India's first stereoscopic project. It also features Prakash Raj, Nathalia Kaur, Baba Sehegal and Aditi Chengappa in important roles.

Gunasekhar, who is also producing the film, says they have completed two schedules of the film.

"We have completed about 45 percent of the shoot. We are two schedules down and the third one will start from the first week of August," he said.

Maestro Illayaraja has been roped in compose the music of the film, which has art direction by Thota Tharani and costumes by Neeta Lulla.
