Bangalore: Assembly pays homage to Khurshed Alam Khan

Bangalore, Jul 22: The Karnataka Legislative Assembly on Monday paid homage to former Union Minister and the State Governor Khurshed Alam Khan on his death.

Speaker Kagodu Thimmappa moved an obituary reference in the House and recalled the service of the deceased leader to the State.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, opposition leader in the assembly H D Kumaraswamy, BJP floor leader Jagadish Shettar and former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa (KJP) also recalled Khan’s contributions to the State.

He was Governor of the State from June 1 1991 to December 2, 1999.

As union minister, Khan had held portfolios of education, textiles, tourism, and transport besides external affairs.
