Bangalore, Jul 23: The State Government will take suitable action on allotment of ‘G’ category of sites in Bangalore based on the recommendations of a committee headed by justice B Padmaraj.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah gave the information to the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday.

In a reply to M P Appachuranjan (BJP) during the question hour, the chief minister said the committee was expected to submit its report by August 26.

Justice H Rangavittalachar and former Chief Secretary P B Mahishi are other members of the committee.

A total of 1620 ‘G’ sites of various measurements had been allotted to MLCs, MLAs, MP, and various professionals since 1985.

The panel was constituted on the directions of the Karnataka High Court.

Siddaramaih clarified that no ‘G’ category site had been allotted after the formation of the panel.

“Action will be taken on receipt of report from the committee,” Siddaramaiah said.

The BJP member Appachuranjan alleged that some MLAs and MLCs have been allotted 2 or 3 housing sites in the city and demanded action against those who received more than one site.

''These people must have submitted duly sworn affidavits stating that they or their close family members were owning sites or houses within the city limits as part of the requirement before allotment of the sites,” he said and urged that the Government should not spare anybody.
