Puttur, Jul 29: In an incident that took place at Karkala in Kutrupady on Sunday July 28 evening, a son allegedly attacked his father with a sickle, leaving him badly injured.

The accused Harish, a jeep driver by profession attacked his father Shivaram Bangera (56) with a sickle. The attack left Shivaram wounded as he fell on the road near by his house. Later, he was admitted to Kadaba community hospital by Kutrupady gram panchayat president Sanjeeva Poojary and member Xavier.
 
As soon as Kadaba police received the relevant information they visited his residence and took the accused under their custody.
 
The locals said that the father and the son have engaged in such fights even before. Harish had even attacked his father twice in the same manner earlier.
 
Harish who is a heavy drinker was admitted to de-addiction camp by the locals. But their efforts were in vain, as Harish managed to escape from there. It was also learnt that, Harish’s wife no more stays with him due to his behavior and has been staying at her parental house from the past few months. Fed up with the frequent fights, the locals have even signed a complaint against them in Kadaba police station.
