Kundapur, Jul 30: Krishnaveni (40), resident of Shiroor Village, committed suicide by pouring kerosene oil and setting herself on fire on Sunday July 28 morning.
She separated from her husband five years ago and stayed with her brother in Shiroor. She suffered from long-term mental illness, and received treatment at several places, said Kashinath in the complaint registered at Byndoor police station.
Krishnaveni suffered serious burn injuries. She was admitted to the hospital but failed to respond to treatment.
