New Delhi, Jan 27: Delhi shivered with below normal temperature and cold northwesterly winds continued to blow as fog enveloped the national capital and surrounding areas bringing down the minimum visibility to 800 metres.

The minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 6.2 degree Celsius, two degrees below normal, the Meteorological Department said.

The maximum temperature was normal at 22.3 degree Celsius.

At around 8:30 a.M., a thin layer of fog enveloped the capital, reducing the minimum visibility to 800 metres, the Met Department said.

However, there were no fog-related disruptions in air services to and from Delhi.

According to a Northern Railway release, rail services continued to be affected with several trains running behind schedule.

The Orissa Saptakranti Express, from Bhubaneshwar to Delhi, was late by close to 17 hours, while Gaya-Delhi Mahabodhi Express was late by nine-and-half hours.

Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 4.8 degree Celsius on Thursday, three degrees below normal, making it the coldest Republic Day in Delhi in the past five years.
