Lokayukta raids residence of fisheries joint director

Mangalore, Jul 31: The Mangalore Dakshina Kannada district Lokayukta officials on Tuesday July 30 raided the residence of fisheries joint director Gangadhar Maddikery in Bangalore.

During the raid, officials found property highly disproportionate to his known sources of income, it is learnt.

The investigation of his bank locker and bank account will be done on Wednesday July 31. The raid was carried out as per the order of the court, said police sources.

A person from Mangalore had filed a plea in court seeking probe against Gangadhar. Based on the petition, the court directed Lokayukta to conduct investigation.

The raid was carried out at his residence in Jeevan Bheemanagar and office at Visvesvaraya Towers in Ambedkarnagar. As per the information received, a few documents were seized by the officials during the raid.
