Bantwal: Accident near Vittal takes life of bike rider

Bantwal, Aug 2: A collision between a pick up vehicle and a motor bike was reported from Kula Anganwadi center area near Vittal here on Wednesday July 31.

32-year-old Shivaprasad was riding his bike while his brother Ravindra was sitting pillion, when a pickup vehicle heading towards Puttur from Vittal collided with the bike at around 10.30 PM on Wednesday. 

The brothers were thrown due to the impact and though they were rushed to the hospital, Shivaprasad, the rider succumbed to his injuries late in the night.

The brothers are said to have been employed in Puttur and the incident occurred when they were on their way back home. Ravindra, the pillion rider is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Mangalore.

The driver in the pickup is said to have escaped in the vehicle.  A case is registered at Vittal police station and investigation is in progress.
