Bangalore: AGM of Konkani Samudai Jayanagar held

Bangalore, Aug 4: AGM of Konkani Samudai Jayanagar was recently held at St Antony’s School Hall, Carmel Convent Jayanagar, here.
 
The program started at 10.30 am with prayer by Fr Henry Saldanha .SJ president Irene D’Souza welcomed the gathering and special guests from Daijiworld as well as FKCA chair person Aida D'Cunha.

Secretary Vinod Monteiro read the annual report as well as the minutes of last AGM. Past president Lawrence Saldanha presented the accounts on behalf of treasurer. Many members gave suggestions on the action plans and improvements.

FKCA chairperson Aida Margaret D’Cunha spoke on the importance of Konkani and how we have to be united to save our mother tongue.

Daijiworld Weekly editor-in-chief Hemacharya explained about the social issues as well as the issues faced by today’s media and how they can be tackled jointly. He requested for the support from Konkani Samudai so that Daijiworld team too can reciprocate and support the association in their endeavors.

Other team members from Daijiworld Weekly, marketing manager Vincent Pinto and representative in Bangalore Major Felix Moras were also present during the meeting.

The program was concluded with vote of thanks by vice president Jerome D’Silva.
