Kundapur: Goods vehicle rams into bicycle, rider injured

Kundapur, Aug 6:  A vehicle carrying goods hit a bicycle rider here near Tekkate, opposite the Grace auditorium on Tuesday August 6 in the morning.

The vehicle has a Bhatkal registration. The Maximo vehicle was noted with registration number KA 47, 5112. The vehicle which was carrying goods was plying towards Kundapur via Bhatkal.

 

Venkatesh (52), a resident of Kannukere, who was riding the cycle suffered serious head injuries. He was immediately taken to the Manipal Hospital. The truck driver  along with a few locals helped the cyclist to get medical care.

Venkatesh is a cook by profession and he also used to undertake catering orders. The accident took place when he was returning home after buying the required food supply. He resides with his wife, son and a daughter.

A case is yet to be registered.
