Karkala, Aug 7: BJP has gained upper hand in the recent by-election held at seven grama panchayat constituencies here.
Edu – Lavanya, Muchuru – Vinaya D Bangera, Nitte – Varija Bhandarthi, Hermunde – Radhika and Kuchooru – Belinje Sumathi are BJP supporters.
Mala – Shwetha and Inna – Sulochana are Congress supporters.
Erlappadi – Rajani, Congress supporter is elected unopposed, Bailur Kaudoor’s Jagadish, supporter of BJP is also elected unopposed.
Edu, Mudaru, Nitte, Hermunde and Erlappadi were under Congress control prior to elections while Mala, Inna and Bailur Kuchur were under the control of BJP supporters.
