M'lore: Patient kills caretaker at Wenlock hospital

Mangalore, Aug 8: In a strange incident that took place in the city, a patient at Wenclock hospital killed a person who was his caretaker. The incident took place on Tuesday August 6 at night.

The deceased has been identified as Kantappa (48) from Panambur; while the accused has been identified as Prashanth (30).

Prashanth was admitted to Wenlock hospital to undergo a surgery and Kantappa helped as his caretaker.

For as silly a reason a tease, Prashanth reportedly attacked Kanthappa around 9 pm which resulted in his victim critically injured.

As soon as the hospital security guard Subramanya came to know about their fight, he went to their rescue but Prashanth attacked him also. People nearby came to the rescue and caught hold of him and provided medical treatment to the accused.

As Kanthappa was critically injured, he experienced chest pain and he passed away around 11:30 pm.

A case has been registered at the Pandeshwar police station.
