Kundapur: Recounting held peacefully in Byndoor constituency

Kundapur, Aug 9: Recounting of gram panchayat by-election results for six vacant seats in five gram panchayats under the limits of Byndoor constituency, here, was carried out peacefully.

The list of winners was announced.

Gopal Mallya (449 votes) defeated opponent Janardhana Karvi (425 votes) by 24 votes, Radha (416) won by 4 votes defeating opponent Shardha (412) in the elections held for two seats in ward 8  and 10 of Uppunda gram panchayat.

In Bejooru village ward 4 and 3 elections, which were held for one seat, Manjunath Devadiga obtained 361votes while Ramesh Devadiga obtained 368 votes and won by 7 votes.

In Nada gram panchayat’s ward 2 of Senapoora village, Kamaraj Shetty obtained 184 votes and lost by 142 votes to Annappa Poojary who secured 326 votes.  

Jeetha Crasta secured 361 votes and defeated Vanaja who got 244 votes by 117 votes in re-elections held for a seat in ward 1 and 3 of Hemmadi Village.

In the re-election held for a seat at Hattiangadi village ward 1, Amrutha P Bhandary obtained 274 votes and lost by170 votes to Deepa Mogaveera who secured 444 votes.
