Udupi: Meeting held to discuss issue of BPL cards

Udupi, Aug 14: A meeting was held to discuss the issue of BPL cards to eligible families at taluk panchayat hall here on August 13. 

Families who are holding APL cards, those who have built houses in city corporation or panchayat land, those who are staying in rented houses, those who are staying in houses without the permission of their owners and those who are staying in own houses also can get their ration cards changed from APL to BPL by applying online through Udupi city corporation franchisees (biometric centers) or respective gram panchayat offices. The officials were told to issue the cards without delay.

Arun Kumar, deputy director of food and civil supplies, Udupi tahsildar Abhijin, Brahmavar tahsildar Borkar, taluk panchayat official Manjunathayya, food department deputy tahsildar, food department food inspectors, panchayat development officials, panchayat data operators, excise inspectors, village accountants, heads of city area franchisees and data operators were present on the occasion.
