Udupi, Aug 16: “Seniors are failing to guide the youth by making them think freely on the concept of freedom and working independently. The worth of freedom can be identified only if the youth think of Swadeshi,” said freedom fighter and strong Gandhian K Lakshmimarayana Sharma Bantakallu.
He was speaking after receiving the felicitation at the 67th Independence Day celebration held at Bantakallu organized by JCI Kaup and Kaup Jayceerate on the evening of Wednesday August 14.
“There is a scarcity of people who can guide the youth. Hence, this may lead them the wrong way. The present political system is the main reason for this. The political leaders have submerged in corruption and even the youth do the same. JCI should recognize people who do good work,” he added.
JCI national programme division’s zone director Deepak Kumar Ermal and Rotary former assistant governor Pundalika Marathe were present as chief guests at the programme.
JCI immediate past president Praveen Kumar Gurme, Rajendra B K , vice-president Anil Kumar, and Jacrate president Soumya Rakesh were present.
Rakesh Kunjar presided on this occasion and welcomed the gathering.
