Bangalore: Govt depts leave Rs 12,000 cr unspent, says CAG

Bangalore, Aug 16: Several Departments of the State government have not spent Rs 12,000 crore released to them as per the report of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) in its report for the year 2011-12.

The Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of the State Legislature H D Revanna, who took up the CAG report for consideration on Friday, told reporters.

The PAC held its meeting on Friday and decided to meet again on August 30 to discuss various steps to ensure effective use of public money.
