Mangalore: MGC school marks Independence day

Mangalore, Aug 17: Mahathma Gandhi Centenary (MGC) Primary, High School, PU College Bondel celebrated Independence Day on August 15h with elaborate programmes by students.

Mark Pais, an active member of the Parish Council St Lawrence Parish Bondel was the chief guest.

The programme  began with the hosting of the flag by the chief guest, followed  by patriotic songs sung by the students to the tune of the school brass band on the campus playground . The 1800 strong student community of the campus presented skits, dances and patriotic songs.  

Present on the stage were the chief guest of the day Mark Pais, correspondent Sr Agnes, principal of  PU College Sr Grace, Dr Sharabendra Swami  vice president of the PTA of High School, Monica D’Silva vice president of  PTA of primary school, Mark  Pais  called up on the students to work for the progress of the country and pray for those soldiers who protect our country.

He also said that the bright future of India is in the young hands.  Sr Matilda D’Souza,  headmistress of  High School and Sr Anitha  headmistress of primary with the help of dedicated teachers organized the programme.
