M'lore: BCF-UAE to distribute scholarship to 650 students

Mangalore, Aug 23: The Bearys Cultural Forum (BCF), one of the highly appreciated association in Dubai, set up with an aim of providing education to the poor masses of the coastal parts of Karnataka will distribute scholarships to around 650 students worth Rs 22 to Rs 25 lac during a programme which will be held at Yenepoya University auditorium in Deralakatte on Sunday August 25.

Addressing the media at the press club on Friday August 23, BCF president B K Yusuf said "the scholarships will be distributed to all students from PU to PG regardless of community they belong to."



From the past several years, the forum has been helping around 600 needy student every years with scholarships, he said which is mainly sponsored by the NRI fraternity.

The ‘BCF Educational scholarship meet – 2013’ will be preceded by career guidance lectures on various streams of studies on the same day at 9:30 am. The career guidance lecture will also include talk on job opportunities available abroad.

The career guidance lectures will be followed by scholarship distribution programme at 2 pm.

The scholarship distribution programme will be blessed by Sheikuman Al Haj P M Ibrahim Musliyar Bekal, honorable Khazi.

Hassan Darvish, chairman, Davish Group UAE, Dr Thumbay Moideen, president, Gulf medical university and founder patron, BCF, Praveen Shetty, chairman, fortune group of hotels, UAE, Fakruddin Ajman, chairman, Ajmal group of companies, UAE, Zakaria Bajpe, chairman, Almuzain group, KSA will be the special guests of honor from UAE.

The other special guests of honor will include forest minister B Ramanath Rai, health minister U T Khadar, urban development minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, fisheries minister K Abhaya Chandra Jain, MLA B A Mohiuddin Bava, MLA J R Lobo, Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi, B Ahmed Haji Mohiuddin, B M Farookh, Syed Mohammed Beary, Dr P Chandramohan and others.

M E Moolur, chairman scholarship committee and vice president of BCF, Dr Kaup Mohamed, gen secretary BCF, B M Mumtaz Ali, BCF patron, B A Nazeer among others were present at the press meet.
