Karkala, Aug 24: Programmes of inauguration of Youth Red Cross unit, annual celebration of Geneva Convention, Installation of Rotaract office bearers and information on first aid were held at Kabettu Manjunath Pai memorial government first grade college under the aegis of Youth Red cross unit, Rotary Club, Rotaract club, Rover’s Rangers, Physical education department and NSS unit.

Dr Satish Nayak of Karkala’s Rotary hospital inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp, led the oath taking ceremony of Youth Red Cross unit and explained and demonstrated the administration process of first aid.

Convenor of Red Cross at the college, Venkatesh, gave a key note address on Geneva Convention anniversary and programme. 

Chief guest and president of Rotary club, Karkal unit, Jyothi Padmanabhan  installed Rotaract club office bearers and wished them well.

Iqbal Ahmed of Karkala Rotaract club spoke on the activities of the club.

Principal of the college, Professor Srivarma M Ajri, who presided over the function, presented uniform donated by Youth red cross unit to talented physically challenged student Kumari Mamatha.

Past president of Rotaract club at the college, Prakash Patkar, present president Nithin, Choreographer of NSS unit and assistant professor of commerce department Gauri S Bhat were present at the dais.

The programme that started by prayers by Akshaya, Malathi and Shwetha was conducted by convenor of physical education department Krishnamoorthi Vaidya.
