Beltangady, Aug 25: Students’ activity forums of Shree Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College were inaugurated by Sullia’s Nehru Memorial College Dr B Prabhakara Shishila at Shree Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College on Saturday August 24.

Inaugurating the event, Dr B Prabhakara Shishila stated, “Student activity forums are a perfect platform to display and hone one’s skills and students should actively involve themselves in activities like these.”

He advised students to spend more time in college as college provides motivating environment to achieve in one’s area of interest. Referring to the variety of forums, he chose to call the college’s activity forum as ‘cultural forum’ as he felt that any art or skill is just a component of culture.
He also inaugurated ‘Chiguru’- a journal produced by journalism students of the college.

Presiding over the event, principal of the college Dr B Yashovarma said that student activity forum was an experimental initiative to teach students what they cannot learn within the class room. The leaders of these forums have a great responsibility of taking the forum to its zenith, he added.

Vice principal of the college Professor P Krishna Murthy and faculty members of the college were present on the occasion. A total of 25 various students activity forums were inaugurated including writers’ forum, readers’ forum, public speakers forum, sports forum, NCC, NSS, rangers, science academics and others.

Public speakers’ forum’s in charge Ajay G welcomed the guest and the gathering. Student Sushith proposed the vote of thanks. Student Pavithra emceed the programme.
