Kasargod: Mysterious death of gynecologist raises questions

Kasargod, Aug 25: A gynecologist of Kanhangad district hospital is said to have died under mysterious circumstances on Friday August 23.

Forty two years old Dr V Leela, a resident of Pivalike Bayaru Odepadpu, was employed as a gynecologist at district hospital of Kanhangad for the last two years. Her husband, Dr Anil Kumar is employed at Panthur Primary Health center.

Dr Leela was on leave for some time and had resumed work only on Friday, the day of the incident.  She had gone to the quarters after it. Her son who came back from the school in the evening found her lying in the room and assumed her to be sleeping.

However, when her husband came home at 4 pm, he found her to be dead. She was rushed to the district hospital where the doctors confirmed that she is dead.

Her body is taken to Periyaram Medical College for postmortem. She was employed in Kasargod general hospital prior to her transfer to Kanhangad district hospital.
