Kasargod, Aug 27: Vidhyanagar police on Monday August 27 arrested a youth for following a girl student upto her house.

The arrested is identified as Mohammed Shakir (23) from Mallapuram.

He allegedly tortured a Kumble college student from Koliyadka. He was caught by the girl’s family and the locals and was later handed over to police.

As per the information obtained, the girl was talking to her classmates at the Kumble bus stand which was captured by the youth on his phone. He caught the same bus as the girl and got off the bus at Kasargod KSRTC bus stand and threatened the girl.

But the girl ignored his threat and caught a bus to Chattanchal. She got down in Koliyadka and by auto rickshaw she reached her house.

The youth following the girl, reached her house after which he showed the captured photos to her family members who later informed locals.

Suspecting the youth, locals caught hold of him and handed over him to Vidhyanagar police. He was produced before court and was sentenced two weeks of judicial custody.
