Kidnapped minor girl traced in Mumbai, boy arrested

Bantwal, Sep 2: Bantwal rural police have traced a minor girl from Farangipet who was said to have been kidnapped three weeks back. The girl was traced in Mumbai by the police. A boy who was with her has been arrested.

A case was registered in rural police station stating that a 16-year-old girl from Kumpanamajalu in Padu gram panchayat limits was kidnapped by her neighbour Irfan.

Acting on the complaint, the police traced the girl, and also Irfan who had reportedly lured the girl with promise of marriage and took her away to Mumbai. They were brought back to Bantwal on Sunday morning.

Accused Irfan was produced in court and sent to judicial custody.

The minor girl has been sent to remand home and if the girl agrees, she will be sent back to her parents, said police sources.
