Karkala, Sep 12: The officials of the wildlife department under the guidance of sub-sector forest officer Chidanand H detained three officials who possessed an unlicensed SBBL gun in their car.
The arrested are identified as Sanjeeva (38) from Kervase, Ganesh (30) from Nallur and Vishwanath (20).
They were caught at Mullur checkpost, when they were plying towards Karkala from Kerekatte.
Along with the gun, a Maruti Omni car, 4 mobile phones are seized by the officials. For further investigation, the case is handed over to Karkala rural police station.
Another arrested
During the investigation of the case, as per the details obtained from three people, police have arrested Sudhakar (37) from Shringeri from whom the arrested had purchased the gun.
