Mangalore: Malaika Appliances ties up with Funai India

Mangalore, Sep 14: Malaika Appliances Private Limited, a chain of retail stores in electronics and appliances, has tied up with Funai India Private Limited as its distributor for Mangalore and Mumbai cities. A dealers' meet followed by a press meet was held in this regard at Goldfinch Hotel on Thursday September 12.

Takeshi Ito, managing director of Funai India Private Limited and in-charge of Asian region delivered the welcome speech. He thanked and appreciated the audience for their presence.

He said, “The brand Funai that started in 1961, is one of the leading television brands in America and Europe and is now eager to explore Indian markets.

"The unique selling point of Funai is its engineering and technology. The market price in comparison to the competitors is around 20% to 30% less which is with an IPS 170 degree model technology in the LEDs.”

He also mentioned, “Funai is a brand engineered at Osaka in Japan, manufactured and assembled in Thailand and then distributed in India. We are now eager to market the brand in Mangalore as well, for which Malaika Appliances Private Limited has agreed.”

Gilbert Baptist, the owner of Malaika Appliances Private Limited said, “Malaika has grown to 25 stores, having several stores in Mumbai and Mangalore, and is the distributor for Funai. We are proud to say that there have been no complaints till date with regard to the quality maintained by Funai.”

Satish Molasi, sales counselor, Funai India Private Limited, who initiated steps to establish Funai in India, was also present at the meet. Funai being an entry level product, plans to provide offers as well as 3 years warranty period, particularly for Mangalore in the coming festive season.
