M’lore: Swiss Missionary Dr H C Robert Scheuermeier felicitated

Mangalore, Sep 18: Swiss Missionary Dr H C Robert Scheuermeier, who came to India during 1957-67 and worked profusely for the welfare of the Church and society in this Coastal area was recently felicitated by Karnataka Theological College (KTC) on being conferred the honorary Doctorate by the Serampore College University for his contribution to Theological Education in India.

The programme was held at Bishop Jathanna Auditorium, KACES Campus Balmatta, here.

On this special occasion, Dr H C Robert Scheuermeier handed over a personal collection of historical documents and manuscript to the KTC archives.

In addition, a book titled Tuluvige Basel Missionarygala Koduge (Contribution of Basel missionaries towards Tulu Language) written by Fr Ebenezer Jathanna and published by the Karnataka Theological Research Institute was released by Dr Scheuermeier.

Rt Dr John S, Sadananda Bishop of CSI –Karnataka Southern Diocese and the master of the senate of Serampore University delivered the felicitation address.

Rt Dr C L Furtado Bishop Emeritus CSI- Karnataka Southern Diocese and former principal KTC released the 125th issue of Subhodhavani.

Dr Honey Cabral, secretary KACES and principal KTC presided over the programme.

Dr H C Robert Scheuermeier along with his wife Flora Scheuermeier and their son Oley Scheuermeier were present on this occasion.

Around 30 students of Dr H C Robert Scheuermeier also felicitated their teacher.
