Mangalore, Sep 19: Promising to assist in granting loan, two persons from a consultancy company in Mumbai cheated a doctor from Hyderabad after obtaining Rs 15.90 lac as commission for their work.
Dr Samshuddin Babar (50), running ‘Times Hospital’ in Hyderabad was in need of Rs 28 crore to undertake developmental works at the hospital. During his search, he found a consultancy company in Mumbai which charged 8 % interest for the loan amount given while another company offered loan at 3 % interest. Believing this the doctor wanted to join hands with them to obtain loan.
In order to discuss the matter, the doctor arrived at Bangalore from Mumbai, where he promised to give the advance commission amount in Mangalore.
On September 12, doctor Samshuddin visited Mangalore and stayed at a hotel. He gave advance commission of Rs 15.90 lac to the consultancy officials namely Radhakrishna and his assistant Sanjeev Bhatra. Even after a week passed, the loan amount was not granted.
Samshuddin who grew suspicious went in search of the consultancy officials, but in vain. On Wednesday September 18, he filed a complaint in this regard with Bundar police.
