Mangalore: ICYM holds 'Yuva Zannvai' quiz competition

Mangalore, Sep 23: ‘Yuva Zanvay-2013’, a quiz competition was held at Mulky Church hall on Sunday September 22. The event was jointly organized by ICYM Kinnigoli Deanery council and Mulky ICYM unit in lieu of the score jubilee year celebration of ICYM Kinnigoli deanery.

The programme was started by invoking god’s blessing with a hymn. This was followed by a wonderful display of exciting and thrilling quiz show conducted by quiz master Nelson Monis, the ex-president of ICYM Central Council, Mangalore diocese.

It comprised of interesting as well as informative rounds on Bible, Konkani culture, sports, science, movies, politics, history etc.

Contestants from seven units of Kinnigoli deanery ie, Mulky, Kinnigoli, Pakshikere, Kirem, Neerude, Niddodi, Balkunje participated in the quiz.

The valedictory function was presided by Fr Norbert Lobo, parish priest of Mulky and Fr Vinod Lobo, the director of ICYM Kinnigoli deanery, Fr Maxim Pinto, assistant director of ICYM Kinnigoli deanery,  Joyal  D’Souza,  vice president of Mulky parish, quiz master Nelson Monis,  Melreeda Rodrigues, the president of Kinnigoli ICYM deanery, Manoj Fernandes, the secretary of Kinnigoli deanery were present on the dais.
Pradeep Ferrao, the president of ICYM Mulky unit welcomed the gathering. Vinola Rebello, the secretary of ICYM Mulky unit proposed vote of thanks.
 
The winners of the competition are:
First place: ICYM Neerude unit (Danny Vas, Joel Mascarenhas, Rajan D’Souza)
Second place: ICYM Kirem unit (Pramith Menezes, Lolita Vas, Manoj Fernandes)
Third place: ICYM Mulky unit (Clinton D’Souza, James Pinto, Vinola Rebello)
 
All the teams were given participating certificates.
