Lucknow, Mar 16: Six people were killed and more than 50 injured in different parts of Uttar Pradesh during Holi celebrations during Wednesday, sources said.

In Bilaspur area of Rampur district, two youth were shot dead and one got injured in a scuffle after some revellers poured coloured water on a girl, police said.

In another incident, one man was killed with a sharp weapon and another injured in the Gagaha police station area of Gorakhpur.

Two brothers, who were seriously hurt during 'Holika' celebrations in Jaunpur, succumbed to their injuries.

In yet another incident of violence on the occasion of Holi, one person was shot dead in Kannauj.

Six people suffered acid burns during Holi celebrations in Deoria, condition of two of them was stated to be serious, police said.

In Agra, one person suffered acid burns while thirty others were injured during Holi scuffles, whereas in Lucknow more than thirty people were admitted to Balrampur Civil Hospital and King George Medical College.
