New Delhi, Mar 17: Despite RSS endorsement of senior BJP leader L K Advani’s proposed ‘National Integration Yatra’ scheduled for next month, the VHP on Thursday virtually ruled out its support to the event planned in the wake of the Varanasi bomb blasts.
"The sants have decided not to support any particular party. I don’t know anything about Advani’s yatra," VHP chief Ashok Singhal told reporters after meeting President A P J Abdul Kalam with a petition seeking firm action against Islamist militants.
A religious leader who accompanied Singhal to the President said the VHP ‘sants’ had decided not to support the BJP’s twin yatras by Advani and party chief Rajnath Singh.
"We are not going to support these yatras at all," Hansdas Maharaj of Hardwar said.
