NEW DELHI, Mar 17: Jaya Bachchan has been disqualified as MP on the ground that she was holding an office of profit.
The disqualification of Bachchan as member of Rajya Sabha, to which she was elected in 2004, was done by President A P J Abdul Kalam on the recommendation of the Election Commission, sources said.
Kalam had consulted legal experts on the issue in the last few days after the EC recommendation came to him.
