New Delhi, Mar 20: Delhi police have offered protection to all crucial witnesses in the Jessica Lall murder case, including socialite Bina Ramani and her daughter Malini who met commissioner K K Paul on Monday.
 
"All crucial witnesses (in the Jessica Lall murder case) have been offered police protection," Paul said.

The Ramanis had been provided police protection for some time. But they do not have it at present.

Upset over being clubbed with the accused in the Jessica Lall murder case, Bina and her fashion designer daughter Malini met Paul and offered full cooperation in the matter.

"The commissioner has been very helpful and has offered us protection. We will take it when we want," Bina told reporters after meeting Paul.

"We have decided not to take it now. We will ask for police protection when we want to," she said.

Bina, a prime witness to the ramp model’s murder, said she looked forward for the investigation and offered full cooperation to the police. "We have nothing to hide," she said.

It was in Ramani’s restaurant Tamarind Court in South Delhi that Jessica was shot at on the night of April 29-30, 1999 allegedly by Manu Sharma, the son of Haryana Minister Vinod Sharma.
