Kuwait: Jayant Kaikini to grace Kannada Koota Rajyotsava event

Kuwait, Oct 24: Kuwait Kannada Koota is a premier sociocultural organization of Kannadigas living in Kuwait and is registered with Indian Embassy in Kuwait.

It celebrates the Karnataka Rajyotsava every year with great enthusiasm and gaiety in November to commemorate the formation of Karnataka state on 1st November 1956.

This year it is celebrating the Karnataka Rajyotsava on 8th November 2013 at –Cambridge English School, Mangaf

The Koota is proud to present Dr Jayant Kaikini a noted poet, columnist, short story write, TV host  and lyricist of Kannada films as the chief guest of the program. Dr Jayant Kaikini has the distinction of winning the Karnataka Sahitya Academy award at a young age of 19 years for his collection of poems.

Since then he has been honored with the Karnataka Sahitya Academy award three more times for his books of short stories.  He was the recipient of Kusumganj national award in 2010 for his poetry. Jayant Kaikini is one of the most sought after lyricist for Kannada films for the freshness, intensity of feelings and poetic finesse he brings to the lyrics. He has won Filmfare awards twice for his lyrics. 

Koota will also be presenting a cultural program staged by its members that will portray the traditions and culture of Karnataka state. The Cultural Committee of the Koota which is in charge of the cultural program is working hard to make the program a memorable one. 

The executive Committee of Dinesh, Vijay, Ramesh C and Ramesh P is leaving no stone unturned to make this year’s  Rajyotsava  celebrations a grand success.
