Pawar will change opinion on Rahul after elections: Cong

Mumbai, Oct 26 (PTI): Reacting to Sharad Pawar's advice for Rahul Gandhi that he should gain administrative experience first before trying to become Prime Minister, Congress today said it was "fully confident" that the NCP leader would change his opinion after the elections.

"We are not only confident, but also sure that Pawar will definitely change his opinion about Rahulji after the elections," Maharashtra Congress spokesperson Sachin Sawant said here.

"It must be noted that Pawar had changed his stance about Soniaji in a similar manner," Sawant said.

In a television interview, Pawar had said that Rahul should gain administrative experience by becoming a minister before he was made Prime Minister.

He had reportedly also noted that Rahul should first prove his mettle in administration, saying he would have liked the scion of the Gandhi family to have joined the Manmohan Singh government with a view to gaining experience in governance.

I absolutely agree with Sharad Pawar. One needs administrative knowledge and skills prior to jumping into Big League. Becoming a Prime Minister is one thing, leading such a huge Democracy, India and make it successful is another. One needs to grow up fully prior to taking huge responsibility.
