Ajman, Oct 29: Gulf Medical University, Ajman hosted internationally renowned Oncologist Dr B S Ajai Kumar, founder and chairman of Healthcare Global Enterprises Limited, who delivered an inspirational lecture as part of Heroes of Healthcare Lecture Series on October 27.
The grand event was attended by Thumbay Moideen, the founder president, Board of Governors-GMU, professor Gita Ashok Raj, Provost of GMU, Akbar Moideen, director – Operations Healthcare & Retail Division, University Deans and Deans of constituent colleges, faculty and students of GMU.
Dr Ajai Kumar addressed over 250 students and faculty members of the university. He explained how important it was for everyone to have a dream. “It’s not important whether dreams are big or small, but making a dream into reality is a very big challenge. It is also very important for one to believe that nothing is impossible”, added Dr Ajai Kumar. He further added, “One’s genetic makeup and the eco system will guide him/her to become something. It’s equally important to identify your own strength and weaknesses to shape your own future."
He concluded by saying that life could be so much of fun if one knows how to make it.

Thumbay Moideen in the presence of Prof Gita Ashok Raj presented a Heroes of Healthcare memento to Dr Ajai Kumar.
Later, Dr Ajai Kumar had an audience with His Highness Sheikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al- Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman in his palace. His Excellency Sheikh Dr Majid Bin Saeed Al Nuaimi, chairman of the Ruler’s Court, Ajman, Hamad Taryam Al Shamsi, Director, Ministry of Health, Ajman and other dignitaries from the Ruler’s Court were also present on the occasion.

Dr B S Ajaikumar is the founder and chairman of HCG – Health Care Global Enterprises Limited. He completed his graduation from a prestigious institute in Bangalore & left for United States to pursue higher education. He joined the University of Virginia, Charlottesville and did his Residency in Oncology. He did his Fellowship in Radiation Oncology & Medical Oncology from the world renowned M D Anderson Cancer Centre, Houston, USA.
With over 35 years of experience in the field of Oncology at some of the reputed Cancer Centers in USA, Dr Ajaikumar had a vision to start a world class cancer care center with the latest technology and best of expertise in India. He joined a group of specialists at Bangalore in 1989 and started the 'Bangalore Institute of Oncology' the only private cancer hospital at that point in time in Bangalore.
