Doha, Oct 30: It is the ideal time of the year to be on sports field and sweat out in the cool weather. Mangalore Cricket Club (MCC), Qatar seizes this opportunity and promotes sports by hosting its every popular game Throwball Tournament year after year for all the Ladies in Qatar.
Looking at the men in action who support ladies in this game, to promote sports and to add flavour to this tournament, MCC has taken another step this year to hold this tournament for men for the first time.
MCC Qatar is now all set to hold its ever popular game the 12th Annual MCC Open Throwball Tournament and Inaugural ‘Men’s Throw ball Tournament along with Ladies Throw ball tournament during this weekend 31st October and 1st November 2013 at the old Ideal Indian School Grounds, near Midmac Roundabout, Salwa Road, Doha – Qatar.
This year 8 teams namely Tulu Koota Qatar, Karnataka Sangha Qatar, Karavali Veterans, Karavali, World of Women, Al Maha Club, Al Khor Community Ladies and host club MCC will participate in the Ladies tournament.
In the Men’s tournament 5 teams namely TuluKoota Qatar, Karnataka Sangha Qatar, Al Maha Club, Al Khor Community Men and host club MCC will be vying for the prestigious MCC Trophy.
The tournament will begin with a short opening ceremony on Thursday October 31 at 6 pm and followed by league matches of that day. On Friday November 1 the matches are schedule to begin in the morning at 7 am. There will be an official stage function which will start around 6:30 pm then thereafter followed by the final matches and the prize distribution ceremony.
The throwball tournament in the past has not just provided an opportunity for the sports lovers to give vent to their sporting talent in Throw ball, but it has also been an opportunity for the spectators to join in the fun and spirit of the game. MCC invites all sports lovers in large numbers to witness the exciting and thrilling matches.
