No love lost between Sallu and SRK: Salim Khan

Mumbai, Nov 7: Scriptwriter Salim Khan of the legendary Salim-Javed duo, recently stated that one shouldn't expect love to overflow between rivals like Salman and Shahrukh Khan simply because they are rivals. While they can be appreciative of each other's work, they can't be expected to be ecstatic over the other's success.

He believed that love could not exist between rivals just as there existed a merely amicable relationship between yesteryear rivals like Raj Kapoor, Dev Anand and Dilip Kumar. In the current day and age, he believed it took the smallest of things to tick a person off and it would behove professionals to not make a public issue out of it, but to be courteous to each other.

The two hugely popular actors have been the cause of immense speculation since the beginning of their rift at actress Katrina Kaif's party where they were believed to have ill-spoken about each other's television shows. What began as a playful banter was speculated to have escalated due to the consumption of alcohol and consequently resulted in the two actors giving each other the cold shoulder up until their hug at a recent Iftaar party.

The expert writer opined that he couldn't envision undying love and friendship between the two superstars despite their bonding over an Iftaar party.
