Udupi: ICYM, Kalmady holds night vigil

Udupi, Nov 19: Under the leadership of ICYM Udupi deanery, ICYM Kalmady unit organized the "Bhavarthaso Sambram - 2013" - Night Vigil program on Saturday November 16 from 9 pm onwards at the Kalmady Church premises.

The program began with prayers; it was followed by small inauguration function.

Fr Edwin D’souza, director ICYM/YCS/YSM of Udupi Diocese inaugurated the Night Vigil by lighting the lamp. In his address he expressed that even in this modern era, youth are still attracted towards spirituality and they are god fearing and this night vigil organized by youth shows their faith and interest in spiritual work.

Fr Alban D’souza, director ICYM Udupi deanery and parish priest of Stella Maris Church, Kalmady given the brief introduction about the Night Vigil program and introduced Fr Bona venture, Br Joel, Br Rony and DMPT who had come to perform this night Vigil.

While Fr Alban, Br Joel, Ivan D’Silva, president ICYM Udupi Diocese, Renal Vice President, ICYM Udupi diocese, Roshan Sequeira, president, ICYM Udupi Deanery, Pricilla Alva, Secretary, Parish Pastoral Council, Sonali D’Mello, President ICYM, Kalmady Unit, Philip Andrade, Animator of Kalmady Unit, were present on the dais during the inauguration.

Roshan Sequeira, president tot ICYM Udupi deanery welcomed the gathering, Wenilda D’Mello, vice president ICYM Udupi deanery proposed the vote of thanks. Steevan Colaco compared the program. 

After the Inauguration, DMPT group, lead by Br. Rony Ammembal, took forward the night Vigil by their "praise festival”, spiritual songs were sung and action songs were performed. People and Youth gathered activity participated in this praise festival. 2 Skits showing the love of god to his children were also performed by DMPT team. After that, Br. Joel talked about love of god and sung his spiritual songs.

After the midnight, Holy Sacrament was kept for adoration, Fr. Bonaventure (Karawar Deanery) lead the adoration. Br. Joel also joined in the preaches during the adoration. Two youth given their testimonial. Br. Joel engaged the people spiritually through songs. Healing session was conducted by Fr. Bona venture.

The night vigil came to an end with holy mass at the early hours of Sunday Morning.

At the end Fr Alban D’souza, thanked everyone for helping to organize the night vigil.

Under the leadership of Fr Alban D’souza and ICYM Kalmady president Sonali D’Mello, the night vigil was well organized. Around 800 people attended the programme.

    Very nice to see the youth night vigil at kalmady.Lots of youngsters participated to show their faith. This year dedicated for faith, so the youth have proved their dedication.Hats off to Fr.Alban and ICYM for arranging such religious programs for our todays youth.

    Good to see our Kalmady youths giving their valuable time to faith & religious activities. Heavenly Father fills our youth with the spirit of faith, the spirit should not end with this Night Vigil but must continue to spread the message of Christ in daily life also. ICYM Kalmady Unit congrats and God bless you all. May the heavenly father shower his choicest blessing amongst all of you. Appreciate the efforts put by Fr. Alban and thanks for his great guidance & support to our youngsters. ICYM Kalmady go on keeping such spiritual programmes in the years to come.
