Udupi: Mahila Congress observes Indira Gandhi’s birth anniversary

Udupi, Nov 20: On the occasion of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s 97th birth
anniversary, outstanding women achievers were honoured on behalf of the Udupi Mahila Congress and all block members had a discussion regarding the problems faced by them  at Congress Bhavan on Tuesday November 19.

Pramod Madhwaraj (MLA) said that till date Indira Gandhi is one of thebest PMs India has seen and every citizen of India has got her services be it through her Land Reform Act or nationalization of banks.

He added that Narendra Modi paled in comparison to Indira Gandhi.

Social worker Remedia D’Sa, Karate champion Merita Kardoza, Rahamath M Sheikh, member of the Karkala Town Muncipal Council, Savitha Moras, handicapped girl, Amrutha Krishnamoorthi, CMC vice-president, and Saleen Karkada, CMC member and local committee member, were felicitated for their special contribution to the society.


Gopal Bhandari, former MLA, Karkala, Veronica Carnelio, president, Udupi District Mahila Congress, and most of the Mahila Congress leaders were present.
