Chennai, Apr 11: A galaxy of film stars, led by the ‘Dream Girl’ of Tamil films Simran and comedian ‘Kovai’ Sarala, plunged into politics when they started their campaigning for the AIADMK at a public meeting in support of sitting MLA P K Sekar Babu at the R K Nagar constituency in north Chennai.

Others who joined the stars included Vindhya, director Manoj Kumar, lyricist Snehan, dance directors Anthony and Raghuram.
Simran managed to deliver a ten-line address with prompts from those on the podium while Vindhya had inputs from poet Kannadasan’s book, in which he criticised DMK president M Karunanidhi.
The stars said that this was just the beginning and several more of their flock would soon pledge support to the AIADMK for the May 8 elections.
