Thieves loot jewellery, cash worth Rs 1 lac from house

Mangalore, Nov 23: Thieves on Saturday November 23 noon broke into a house at Mundrel road in Kudupu and looted 5 sovereigns of gold and Rs 1,500 in cash.

As per the information obtained, house owner Radha had been to the temple at around 10.30 am. She had locked the main door of the house and kept the key its usual hiding place.

At around 2 pm when she came back home, she found the house was locked but thieves had gained entry through some other means and opened the cupboard. Her gold and cash had been stolen.

One chain (3 sovereign), 3 finger rings (3 grams), and a pair of earings (4 grams) were taken away.

As the news of the theft spread, locals caught hold of two suspects and handed them over to the police.

Mangalore rural police visited the spot and investigated the incident.
