Mumbai: Kannada Crusader Dr Joshi expresses concern over sustaining Kannada

Mumbai, Nov 26:
Karnataka Sangh of central suburban Kalyan celebrated their eleventh anniversary and Karnataka Rajyotsav celebration at Girija Payyade auditorium, located at Bail bazaar, Kalyan (West) here recently.
 
The Kannada crusader Dr G D Joshi was the chief guest, while Ghansoli – Mookambika temple managing trustee Anni C Shetty was the guest of honor of the occasion.

Both Dr Joshi and Anni inaugurated the programme.
 
Dr Joshi who was felicitated on completing eighty years, Anni Shetty, life insurance professional MDRT R K Shetty, centurian Anant Halwai famed Praful Gawali and Dr Balakrishna Shetty honored on the same occasion.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Joshi expressed his deep concern on the future of Kannada among the new generation who disregard it.  He urged the youth to foster mother tongue Kannada at any cost, urged Dr Joshi.
 
Gawali said that the contemporary psalmist in one of his praise and worship said ‘Kanada Vittala’ that is to foster bond between Karnataka and Maharashtra which thrived in ancient times.
 
Anni appealed to the gathering to live just lives that would bring peace and happiness in life.
 
R K Shetty called upon the gathering, wherever one lives, he/she ought to keep mother tongue alive.
 
Dr Balakrishna expressed happiness over the great honor.
 
NCP corporator Sanjay Patil offered assurances of contributing for annual sports meet  and lauded the yeomen service of Kannada Sangh.
 
Karnataka Sangh – Kalyan advisor Surendra V Shetty, Ramesh Shetty, founder president Nanda Shetty, president T S Upadhyaya, vice presidents Gopal Hegde and Ahalya Shetty, honorary secretary Subraya Hegde, treasurer Dr S P Kakaramata, women wing president Darshana Sonkar, Prashanti Shetty, Geeta Poojary and Jayanti Hegde were present on the occasion.
 
The cultural programmes that depicted the splendor of Kannada and its rich culture were held at the leadership of K Chandrashekar. 
 
T S Upadhyaya welcomed the gathering.  Joint secretary advocate Nutan Hegde compered the programme.
