About Hulikal Nataraj

Hulikal Nataraj was born in a small village Hulikal in Turuvekere taluk of Tumkur district, Karnataka, and studied well despite his poverty. He has been a teacher for more than 25 years and headmaster for last 10 years.

He was inspired by Dr A T Kovoor, Premananda who propogated scientific temperament, and also Dr H Narasimaiah, who openly challenged miraclemen.

He has been in the news very often whenever a miracle has been reported, which he feels are tools to cheat people. He considers it his responsibility to bust such miracles. He also publishes his logic behind the so-called miracles. He travels all over the country to solve the mystery of miracles.

He has been engaged in the task of debunking miracles since 1979, facing many hurdles along the way, including threat to his life. He even teaches people to see the logic and scientific reasoning behind extraordinary happenings. He has been educating and creating awareness among women and children in remote areas.

He also started Ecosan, a unique initiative to help students understand the importance of sanitation and rainwater harvesting in Swamy Vivekananda School, Doddaballapur. Today the school has become a benchmark for eco-toilets in the state.

Apart from teaching, he started a voluntary organization, Miracle Research Centre in 1992. Through this he presented more than 9,000 miracle busting programmes all over Karnataka state and beyond. His speeches have inspired scientific temperament among lacs of students in Karnataka and other states. He has also supported students in their studies by offering scholarships. KMCA Team, Firstly, congratulations on an extremely-successful huge event on this Friday. Thank you for organizing such a profound and spectacular mega event. I thought that the theme ed to celebrate Karnataka Rajyotsava in a different way was an impeccable idea. Otherwise many people they think and celebrate by organizing repeated musical programs with repeated singers, repeated drama’s with repeated drama artists by collecting a big fund. This type of educational awareness program helps each and every educated as well as uneducated persons I trust. People those who conducts an event, it is a good example to learn.

Hulikal Nataraj has been attacked several times by religious organisations, supporters of self-proclaimed godmen, people who practice witchcrafts and by those who claim to be possessed by gods or goddesses.

Karnataka Rajyotsava is not all for just celebrating by means of orchestra, community gatherings. It is also a way of honoring common people and personalities who have done a lot for the humanity in various fields of culture, literature and social service. I believe KMCA is doing a good job by inviting Hulikal Nataraj’s and honoring him for his social work towards awareness, child labour, and child marriage in and around Karnataka. As said By Mr. Saeed Assadi this program will be an eye-opener. The government is also bringing a law to abolish these kinds of miracles and muda nambikay.

Dear friends, Karnataka Rajyotsava does not mean only collect money entertain music, drama etc. These types of celebrations we often see in all most all forms and even in TV channels. The awareness program is the best instrument taken up by KMCA to educate people. Being a founder member of KMCA and an active social worker of Qatar, I fully support KMCA for giving priority to such educative programs.

I fully agree with abbas. Is people in Doha so gullible? what he will show ? He should be working in remote /tribal areas to educate the people. Surely he is here due to some connection.
The committee should focus on culture than all this show-off.

An excellent campaign to look forward to. This is the awareness we need to create within our society and bravo! KMCA for bringing this event to Qatar.

This will be an eye opener for many of our fellow brothers & sisters who fall prey to the illusionist predators from within our society who manipulate and take advantage of innocent people.

All the very best to KMCA for their upcoming event and for all their future endeavors.

It is nice to see KMCA is celebrating Karnataka Rajyotsava. Present committee is started doing programs. I do not understand why they are calling Hulikal Nagaraj for rajyotsava? he is a controversial person. They must have considered this.
