Udupi, Nov 30: Conrad Castelino from Shirva has been selected as a director of Zilla Sahakari Union Niyamitha, Udupi District.

This is the union of all the Co-operative societies in the Udupi District, located at TPMC building Udupi.

He is elected as a director along with 12 directors of Zilla Sahakari Union Niyamitha. He is the first director elected from the Christian community for any District level Co-operative Union. The president of the Zilla Sahakari Union is Krishna Hegde Kolke, Bailuru. He is elected as president for the third time in a row.

Conrad Castelino belongs to Our Lady of Health Church, Shirva and resides at Panjimar, Shirva. He is an active member in all the associations in and around Shirva.

Presently he is also the president of Vyavasaaya Sahakaari Sangha Niyamitha, Shirva, President of United Welfare Association, Shirva, active member of Shirva Village Panchayath, he is an active political party worker in Udupi, member of Red cross Society, Udupi, and also a personality known through his service to the society.
