INSO creates record in organ donation pledge


Rohtak (Haryana), Dec 1 (IANS): The Indian National Students' Organisation (INSO), the students wing of the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), Sunday created a Guinness world record with 10,450 of its supporters pledging to donate their organs.

Officials of the Guinness World Records issued a certificate to INSO for the biggest organ donation pledge made in eight hours, an INSO spokesman said here.

The earlier record in this category was held by the Desai University in Gujarat where 4,135 people had pledged to donate their organs.

Guinness World Records' country manager Nikhil Shukla issued the certificate Sunday to INSO president Digvijay Chautala and senior INLD youth leader Dushyant Chautala.
